Morse Boulevard should definitely be fixed. We are the forgotten part of The Villages. The new South gets it all. I do not even drive my golf cart as I do not feel safe on Morse Boulevard.
They seem to find money for other things, like lawsuits over three white crosses in a yard that hurt nobody. Collect fines that are owed. Whatever it takes, this needs to be done. Morse Boulevard north of County Road 466 needs to be widened, and not just with a Band-Aid fix. Widen the road the right way with golf cart paths like other areas and be done with it.
This wouldn’t have been a problem had the road not been opened to the public many years ago, and that is on The Villages. It was just for people living here, but they didn’t want to have the expense of the upkeep of the roads and turned them over to the county. It became and still is a cut-through for many working people not living in The Villages. Before that, it was truly a gated community. They caused this issue, now fix it. Use the money you would have had to use to maintain the road all these years. The money is there somewhere, so use it and fix this problem. We deserve to be able to safely use the golf cart paths…
