Sunday Beach and Boating Forecast

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Sunday Beach Forecast

Rip Current Risk: LOW. Get to the beach early to beat the heat! Don’t forget sunscreen, and stay hydrated in the heat!

The Suncoast beaches are looking pretty inviting on Sunday, at least from a weather perspective. You’ll have mostly sunny skies and calm conditions to start the day, with light winds becoming west around 5 mph in the morning and increasing to 5 to 10 mph by afternoon. The water will be relatively calm with very small surf—basically 1 foot or less. There’s no thunderstorm threat, so you won’t have to worry about lightning. The big story is the heat. If you’re planning a beach day, get there early, find some shade, and take frequent breaks in the water to cool off. The heat index will be dangerously high, so sunscreen and staying hydrated are essential. Rip current risk is low, so swimming conditions should be safe.

⛵ Suncoast Boating Forecast

Sunday: Start your boating day with light Southeast winds 5 knots, becoming west 5-10 knots late. Seas will be very calm at 1 foot or less, and bay and inland waters will have just light chop. It’s a great day to be on the water if you can handle the heat…
