LEWIS CENTER, Ohio (WJW) – The Ohio Lottery said a man who had just turned 18 on Aug. 6 purchased his first lottery ticket at midnight and won big!
According to a media release, the 18-year-old, who was only identified as Austin from Lewis Center, told the Ohio Lottery that he purchased the scratch-off ticket as “sort of as a joke” and was stunned when he won $10,000.

His slightly older friend, whose played the lottery before, reportedly joked, “This is not how adult life goes!”
After mandatory state and federal taxes, the freshly turned 18-year-old will take home $7,325.
