ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — News 13’s weather team has issued a Weather Warn Day for today, Aug. 17, as the heat index is expected to be over 100 degrees for parts of Upstate South Carolina and in the mid-90s for the mountains of western North Carolina.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory, in effect from noon to 8 p.m., for Upstate South Carolina and Northeast Georgia, as the heat index will be between 102-107 degrees.
