The Centrus Energy Corp. plant located at the end of Centrifuge Way in Oak Ridge is gearing up to accelerate its construction of 45-foot-tall AC100M centrifuge machines in the next three years, according to Ben Jordan, a local spokesman for the company.
Centrus Energy already has a customer – with a presence in Oak Ridge – that is expecting to buy its special uranium fuel by the end of the decade.
In response to a question, he added that the Oak Ridge plant will be producing “thousands of uranium enrichment centrifuges for use by Centrus Energy’s American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio.”…
