A Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday across Tampa Bay and much of west-central and southwest Florida. The National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin advises residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air conditioning or shade, avoid strenuous midday activity and check on neighbors who may be more vulnerable to heat illness.

Rain is unlikely Monday, with only a 4% chance of precipitation in Tampa. West-northwest winds will increase from nearly calm in the morning to around 10 mph during the afternoon, offering little relief from the heat.
Monday night will stay mostly clear, with temperatures dropping only to around 80 degrees. The overnight heat index could still reach 104, while west winds hold between 3 and 9 mph.
