Construction should start soon at a new multi-purpose student event center for Bossier Parish Schools to provide more space for student activities.
Earlier this summer, the board approved construction of the BPSB Center for Excellence, a 2,772-seat multi-purpose student event center at the John McConathy Academic Complex , to be used by every student and school in the district.
Plans for the Center for Excellence are in two parts because, while there is an existing gymnasium, theater and adjoining spaces on the property that will be completely renovated, two buildings will be removed to make way for a newly constructed 45-thousand square foot activities center that is planned to include banquet space.
