SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) — A Summit County homeowner is facing charges in connection with a case of animal neglect, Springfield Township police reported this week.
Township police said they were called to a vacant home on Ewart Drive for a welfare check on July 18. Upon arrival, they spoke with neighbors who said they were concerned about animals abandoned on the property.

Investigating the premises, police said they found more than two dozen cats and a German Shepherd, all who were “in dire need of medical attention.” The cats and dog were found to be “living without adequate food, water or sanitary conditions.”
The dog, according to a police report, was found to be partially paralyzed.
