A citizens group that has sued Silfab and York County has asked a judge to issue a restraining order to stop the solar manufacturer from using “hazardous and toxic chemicals” at its Fort Mill plant.
In its filing Monday, the Citizens Alliance for Government Integrity (CAGI) also asked a judge to issue a restraining order against York County or force the county to use its “police powers,” to revoke any permits issued to Silfab Solar since early May 2024. That’s when the county’s board of zoning appeals unanimously ruled Silfab was not light industrial. Judge Bill McKinnon upheld that decision last month.
CAGI asks a judge to command “Silfab to cease operations not permitted prior to the BZA 5/9/2024 ruling, pending resolution of any appellate litigation, and is urgent given school openings and given Silfab’s publicly proclaimed intention to appeal the BZA decision to the South Carolina Court of Appeals.”…
