LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Habitat for Humanity is bringing women from across the capital region together this week to help build more affordable housing on Lansing’s south side.
The organization’s annual Women Build is expected to bring together about 100 women volunteers, along with local groups and members of the public.
Volunteers are currently working on two homes along Valencia Boulevard, where they are cutting, measuring and installing flooring as construction moves forward.
One of those homes will eventually belong to Edward Smith, a future Habitat for Humanity homeowner. He says finding affordable housing has become increasingly difficult and he is grateful for the opportunity to have a home of his own…
