In 2004, Savannah Children’s Theatre (SCT) started with six students gathered in the nursery of Trinity United Methodist Church, using king-size bed sheets as a backdrop in their first showcase.
More than two decades later, Savannah Children’s Theatre serves hundreds of students each week, giving young people the opportunity to experience theater both on and off the stage.
“When I look around now at the hundreds of students we serve each week, it’s hard to believe how far we’ve come,” said Jenn Doubleday, associate director of Savannah Children’s Theatre. “Everyone who starts a nonprofit dreams of the impact they may one day have, but I don’t think any of us believed we would get to create art on this scale!”…
