BOULDER, Colo. – It was Home Depot scraps and old roller blade parts that became the improbable launchpad for a Cherokee-owned company that now sells recovery tools and footwear to athletes globally.
Jeremy Nelson, founder of Boulder-based Roll Recovery and a Cherokee Nation citizen, said the idea arose from sore legs. His wife Adriana was beginning her professional distance running career, and he took to training alongside her.
“She made running look easy, so naturally I thought it can’t be that hard,” Nelson said.
Soon he also was entering marathons and traveling with his wife to competitions, and he paid particular attention to how a professional athlete trains and recovers…
