While this week will be pretty tranquil in Western Washington, with morning clouds melting away to sunshine each day, we’re already watching the longer-range forecast with interest, as there could be some important changes in the weather pattern ahead of the coming weekend.
Onshore wind flow will keep Western Washington seasonably mild and bring some fresh air into the lowlands (though wildfire smoke will still be an issue from time to time), with highs mainly in the 70s each day this week.
A trough of low pressure could swing inland by late Friday and Saturday across the Northwest. These areas of disturbed weather bring moisture, more clouds, and “lift” for thunderstorms…
