» Bail Review Postponed For Man Said to Confess to 2025 Fatal Shooting

Defense counsel was granted a postponement for bail reconsideration on Aug. 18 in the case of homicide defendant Jimmy Charles, who police say, confessed to fatally shooting 28-year-old Keyon Smith approximately six months after the incident.

The 36-year-old Baltimore resident was joined by his attorney, Roya Hanna, during Tuesday’s Zoom proceeding before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Kendra Y. Ausby. Hanna informed the court that she received early discovery from the prosecution, which she has been unable to review because she’s currently in another trial.

The prosecution and Charles were understanding of the postponement and all parties agreed to return for bail reconsideration on Sept. 9…
