WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WJAR) — A West Warwick resident who carried the torch at a Special Olympics and completed multiple marathons in a wheelchair will now have a school in the town named after him.
The newly renovated school building at 30 Payan St. in the town will now be renamed the Jason M. Pisano Academy for Learning.
Pisano, a 1992 graduate of West Warwick High School, was born with cerebral palsy, and used a wheelchair throughout his life. He carried the torch in the 1994 Special Olympics, and won gold, silver and bronze medals at the games…
