Editorial: Ten Commandments posters are displayed

“It’s just not an issue, and we’re not going to make one out of it.” Those are the words of Bossier Parish school Superintendent Jason Rowland. He was talking about the display of Ten Commandments posters in public school and college classrooms.

The Advocate said the Republican-controlled state Legislature passed the Ten Commandments law in 2024. However, it was paused after a group of public-school parents sued, arguing the displays violate their children’s religious freedom.
