CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Three men have been charged with allegedly attempting to steal copper wire near NoDa, court documents say.
Around 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 11, officers responded to the 3500 block of Robinson Circle about a suspicious person. The caller reportedly said that people were attempting to steal copper wire.
Court documents allege that the suspects were seen inside a fenced area burning copper wire in a 55-gallon drum. The Charlotte Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The Charlotte Fire Investigator Task Force determined the suspects used an ignitable liquid to set the wire on fire.
