CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Late-night food truck operators say a permanent midnight shutdown in uptown could cost them big. Owners say up until June, they usually stayed open until 3 or 4 a.m.
Now they’re hoping uptown leaders and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police will reconsider the closing time.
“We’re a street business. We’re street food. We serve the crowds,” said Adil Ibrar, the owner of the Halal Food Cart near Trade and Tryon. “The crowds usually come out to the city around 10, 11 o’clock. That is when the business starts.”…
