Cincinnati schools include Walnut Hills, Madeira, Mariemont and Indian Hill among Ohio’s highest-ranked public high schools.
Walnut Hills High School again leads Ohio in the latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report. The Cincinnati Public Schools school ranked No. 1 in Ohio for the third consecutive year. It also ranked No. 76 nationally, improving from No. 91 in the previous ranking.
U.S. News released its 2026-2027 Best High Schools rankings on Tuesday, Aug. 18. The rankings assess schools using several academic measures, including college readiness, state assessment results and graduation rates.
The results give the Cincinnati region a strong showing among Ohio’s highest-ranked public high schools.
