Although the Christian County Relay for Life Butterfly release could not take place Tuesday night, plans are moving ahead for the annual relay Friday night.
A large crowd of cancer survivors and caregivers gathered Tuesday afternoon at the Christian County Justice Center for the third annual butterfly release only to find out the butterflies were still in Louisville. Relay committee member Pam Futrell told those on hand the release will be rescheduled for another day this week after the butterflies arrive.
Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam said the annual Relay for Life proclamation reading will be held at the same time as the butterfly release because Hopkinsville Mayor J. R. Knight was not on hand for the ceremony Tuesday night…
