Montgomery delays short-term rental ordinance again

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Montgomery city leaders are taking another two weeks to work through proposed regulations for Airbnb and other short-term rentals after a lengthy public hearing Tuesday exposed lingering concerns from property owners, residents and even members of the city council.

The Montgomery City Council had been expected to move closer to adopting the ordinance Tuesday after months of discussion and previous public feedback. Instead, council members agreed to carry the measure over for another two weeks while city attorneys prepare a clean version incorporating the latest changes.
