Hanover warehouse once eyed for ICE processing facility back up for sale

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Hanover County warehouse federal officials once planned to convert into a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) processing facility is back on the market.

On Monday, Aug. 17, 8News received an email from Henrico County-based commercial real estate company CBRE regarding an about 40-acre property at 11525 Lakeridge Pkwy in Ashland, which is now up for sale or lease. An over 550,000-square-foot warehouse currently sits on the land, which is located just off Interstate 95.

Earlier this year, this property was at the center of significant controversy. At the time, Canadian-based property management and development company Jim Pattison Developments was considering selling it to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) so it could be turned into an ICE processing facility…
