PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A man’s body was found in Lake Montclair after his canoe capsized Tuesday night in the Dumfries area.
The incident happened just minutes before 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 18, when officers responded to Lake Montclair, in the 4600 block of Spalding Drive, to investigate a drowning.
The police department’s preliminary investigation revealed that two men were paddling in a canoe along the lake when it capsized. One of the men, a 24-year-old, went underwater and did not resurface.

Search and recovery crews completed an extensive search, and the man’s body was found in the water. The victim’s name has not yet been released…
