License plate cameras lead to arrest of wanted felon in San Marcos

SAN MARCOS, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras helped San Diego County sheriff’s deputies locate and arrest a wanted felon in San Marcos last week, authorities said.

On Friday, Aug. 14, deputies with the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station received a notification from the LPR camera system that 67-year-old Brian Buffett’s vehicle was near the 500 block of Grand Avenue.

According to the sheriff’s office, Buffett had an active arrest warrant for possession of controlled substances with prior convictions.
