San Diego County’s Board of Supervisors voted yesterday to approve construction of 121 affordable homes and a new health care facility on surplus county property in Logan Heights, marking the first time the county’s surplus-land housing program has paired new housing with a full replacement of an aging health clinic on the same site.
The development is planned for 3177 Ocean View Boulevard, spread across three county-owned parcels totaling roughly 1.82 acres, according to Engage San Diego County. The existing health center on the site was built in 1957 and has reached the end of its operational lifespan, prompting the county to move forward with a full rebuild. Who Will Live There
All 121 residential units will be restricted to households earning up to 60% of the Area Median Income, with designated housing set aside for seniors, low-income families, veterans, former foster youth, and people at risk of homelessness, per the county’s announcement. Nonprofit developer BRIDGE Housing Corporation was selected to build the residential portion of the project.
