José Alberto Suárez, a former Texas television executive and president and general manager of three Florida-based Telemundo stations, died Wednesday in a helicopter crash in Kenya.
From January 2016 to April 2019, Suárez served as the president and general manager of San Antonio’s Telemundo 60 station. He was among five Americans killed in the crash, Telemundo Digital reported.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority said the crash occurred at 9:13 a.m. local time in Kenya, or 1:13 a.m. Wednesday in San Antonio.
The aircraft involved was a Eurocopter EC130 B4 operated by Lady Lori Helicopters, the agency said. The helicopter was en route to Ewaso Nyiro from Loisaba with seven people on board when it crashed while flying near Mount Ololokwe in Samburu County…
