ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A former Georgia correctional officer cadet was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempting to smuggle methamphetamine into a state prison, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The DOJ said Julius Deshawn Williams Jr., 29, attempted to bring more than half a kilogram of methamphetamine into Dooly State Prison to give to an inmate in June 2024.
