NASCAR Sells Remaining California Speedway Land After $300 Million Plan Stalls

NASCAR has sold the remaining California Speedway property. Despite rumors of a new project for the Southern California racetrack, it is evident those plans did not come to fruition.

California Speedway, also known as Auto Club Speedway, was a 2.0-mile, D-shaped oval track located in Fontana, California. It was a yearly stop on the Cup Series tour from 1997-2023, with the exception of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The track closed in 2023 for reconstruction for a new racing project. However, the plans ultimately did not materialize.
