2 people, including deputy, hospitalized in I-20 crash

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A Greene County deputy and another man were hospitalized following a crash that shut down I-20 eastbound in DeKalb County on Friday morning, according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

Troopers were called to the interstate near Panola Road in Lithonia at around 2:25 a.m. All lanes have since reopened.

According to GSP, 18-year-old Jakori Cope was driving a 2013 Kia Optima in the first traffic lane from the median — the same lane where a 2026 police Dodge Durango and Ford F-650 were stopped in an active work zone…
