SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 61-year-old pedestrian was killed Thursday night after being struck by a vehicle in the El Cerrito neighborhood, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened around 8:43 p.m. in the 6000 block of El Cajon Boulevard.
Police said the pedestrian was walking westbound in the right lane while pushing a shopping cart. At the same time, a 28-year-old man driving a Honda Civic was traveling westbound in the same lane when he struck the man.
