DONLEY COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Texas Department of Public Safety released information on an early Friday morning wreck on US 287, two miles west of Hedley, which killed one Amarillo man after a near head-on collision.
According to Texas DPS, 68-year-old Robert Allan Hill of Amarillo was driving a pickup truck on US 287 just after 1 a.m. on Friday, traveling in the wrong directional lanes. The driver of another pickup, which was towing a tractor trailer, attempted to avoid Hill’s pickup but was unable to do so, which led to a “near head-on collision.”
After the initial crash, Hill’s pickup caught fire. At the time, a passenger car lost control while traveling through debris in the roadway, and crashed into the pickup that had been towing a trailer…
