COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) — Recent rainfall has eased burn bans across most of the Pikes Peak region, including Colorado Springs, El Paso County and Pueblo. The reduction in restrictions comes even as regional drought conditions persist and the “Aspen Acres” fire continues to burn.
Colorado Springs Fire Marshal Kris Cooper noted that precipitation levels have varied significantly throughout the area, keeping some zones vulnerable.
“If you look at the rain across the city, one part of the town will get hit; the other part won’t. And so, it’s not across the board. We still have areas in our community that are at high risk,” Cooper said…
