Honolulu reveals new Purple Heart plate design after 35 years

HONOLULU (KHON2) — To honor combat-wounded veterans, the City and County of Honolulu unveiled a redesigned Purple Heart specialty license plate and three new Purple Heart City signs on Oʻahu.

The new license plate marks the first redesign of Hawaiʻi’s Purple Heart plate in 35 years.

The updated design features a larger, full-color image of the medal and the words “Combat Wounded” displayed vertically on the left side.
