One person hospitalized after fire in south Charlotte: CFD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person is seriously injured after a fire in south Charlotte, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

Around 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, crews responded to a townhome in the 2900 block of Heathstead Place and saw smoke when they arrived. A 911 call reported that someone in the townhome was yelling for help.

Firefighters climbed through a second-floor window and pushed up an interior stairway to find an unconscious woman trapped inside the home.

Officials said it took 30 firefighters to control the blaze in just over 20 minutes…
