Report from the 2026 Woodward Dream Cruise

Overcast skies and warm weather did not dampen spirits along Woodward Avenue in Oakland County last weekend. The event was a huge success with organizers proclaiming it to be the largest automotive-centered event in the world. In its 31st year, the Dream Cruise has become a free event that draws hundreds of thousands of people who attend as spectators along Woodward and participants parading their classic, antique, racing, hot rod, unique, and sentimental vehicles.

The 2026 event is living proof that Detroit and Southeast Michigan are still the automotive capital of the world. This year’s event kicked off on Friday highlighted by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and race car reveal.
