NYC Plans Faster Sidewalk Shed Removals

New York City is tightening rules on sidewalk sheds and proposing new designs intended to remove unnecessary structures faster while making required sheds less disruptive to pedestrians.

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and Department of Buildings Commissioner Ahmed Tigani announced the changes in August as the city works to reduce the number of sidewalk sheds.
