Lakeland Man Arrested After Telling Deputy He Would Turn Himself In On Monday

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 67-year-old Lakeland man wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested Thursday afternoon after telling a law enforcement officer over the phone that he would turn himself in the following week.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy arrived at a home on Sandra Way around 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, to locate Andrew Leopold Freider Allen. Allen was wanted on an active felony warrant for failure to appear for an inmate work program on prior charges of resisting an officer and providing false information to law enforcement regarding a missing person.

While on scene, the deputy reached Allen by phone. During the call, Allen told the deputy he would turn himself in on Monday…
