Tyson, JBS to slash slaughter capabilities

Tyson Foods announced Aug. 13, 2026, its plans to close a Joslin, Ill., harvest plant and a Utah case-ready facility. The company also announced its intent to sell a harvest facility in Pasco, Wash.

The Joslin plant reportedly slaughters around 3,000 head per day while the Pasco facility kills around 2,000 head per day.
