LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Firefighters continued recovery work on the Bug and Stallion fires north of Reno while keeping crews and equipment ready to respond quickly if conditions change.
The Bug Fire, which started Aug. 8, 2026, has burned 93,733 acres and is 94% contained. The Stallion Fire, which started Aug. 10, 2026, has burned 40,691 acres and is 98% contained. Humans caused both fires.
A total of 202 personnel are assigned across the two incidents. Resources include two crews, six engines and water tenders, three helicopters and four pieces of miscellaneous heavy equipment. Fuels in the area include tall grass, brush and pinyon-juniper…
