Birmingham City Schools will continue to enforce the guidelines set in 2025 for attendance at district sporting events to help create a safe and enjoyable environment.
Initially adopted in August 2025, the guidelines dictate that all youths under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire event, and adults must have a valid ID. The guidelines take effect immediately.
“Safety is a priority in Birmingham City Schools,” said Superintendent Dr. Mark Sullivan. “In recent months, we’ve invested in hi-tech scanners as well as alert systems for our school employees. These new guidelines are part of our ongoing commitment to safety and security in our schools and facilities as well as our events.”…
