VIRGINIA – Average gas prices in Virginia and nationwide have been steadily increasing, according to AAA.
As of Monday, Aug. 24, the statewide average price for a regular gallon of gas is $3.92, up nearly 16 cents from last Monday. Premium gasoline averages about $4.80 per gallon, while diesel averages about $5.69. For comparison, the statewide average for a regular gallon of gas one year ago was about $3.06.
In Roanoke, gas prices have increased 6.3 cents per gallon in the last week, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 155 stations in Roanoke.
