Fox Valley Together event honors tornado recovery volunteers

NEENAH, Wis. (WBAY) – For a few hours Sunday, the Fox Valley took a break from tornado cleanup for an event called Fox Valley Together.

The event ran from noon to 7 p.m. Organizers from the New National Association of Remodeling Industry, Daizy Roots Bands, Tailgate County and Willie Beamon’s joined forces for an afternoon of music, food, family activities and raffles in Neenah. Northeast Wisconsin NARI started the idea for the event.

“I think it’s extremely important. You can’t take care of others if you’re not taking care of yourself, right? And I can only imagine that these last few weeks for some folks have just been awful. So, my hope, our hope is that, yes, people can just come and enjoy themselves, even if just for a couple hours, to get their mind off of things,” said Lindsey Dix, organizer, Fox Valley Together.

The event also served as a fundraiser for storm recovery and a thank you to those who have spent weeks doing recovery work…
