A Eugene homeless shelter helped those in medical crisis. Now it’s closed

Eugene lost access to 20 transitional housing beds available to clients with special medical needs after the closure of the Tom Campbell at Chase Commons Safe Sleep Site on June 30.

The site opened in March of 2023 at 175 Commons Drive with entry provided exclusively through medical referral, according to the City of Eugene. Nonprofit Carry It Forward operated the site on city-owned property.
