Concord Dad Brought Onstage By Carly Pearce At Hampton Beach After His 7-year-old Made A Sign

One Concord, Massachusetts local got the surprise of a lifetime when country superstar Carly Pearce invited him onstage for a duet during her August 14th show at Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom.

His name is Chris Cherry, and if you were at the show, you may remember the fan holding a very specific sign: “Carly Fierce sing my place plzzz.” The sign was actually made by Chris’s 7-year-old daughter, Felicity and it worked!

And I, along with Sarah Sullivan, witnessed the beautiful moment he was invited to join Carly onstage.

Chris has been singing since he was young and comes from what he describes as a “musical family.” He also leads worship at his local church. Chris became a Carly Pearce fan back in 2021 after two friends, Phil and Nick, who are members of Carly’s band, invited him to one of her shows in Boston. One song in particular quickly became a favorite: “my place.”

In fact, Chris says, “My place was my number one played song on my Spotify Wrapped 2024.” He explained, “I just loved the groove- the drum pattern is so catchy I kept finding myself going back to it.”

And I have to agree with him! It’s actually my favorite Carly Pearce song to date. After a really heartbreaking breakup, it was the first song that made me feel like someone had put exactly what I was feeling into words…
