BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An inmate accused of robbing a bank in Tonawanda last week is facing additional charges after deputies allegedly found crack cocaine during a search at the Erie County Holding Center, officials said.
David Gadt, 47, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first-degree promoting prison contraband. Officials allege that “a quantity of crack cocaine, exceeding 1/8 ounce in weight, was discovered inside a sock belonging to Gadt” during a search Sunday afternoon.
Gadt is accused of robbing the Bank of America on Delaware Avenue in Tonawanda on Aug. 19. Officials allege that Gadt handed a bank teller a note demanding money; he was located by police in a vacant building in Buffalo shortly afterward. He was charged with one count of first-degree robbery…
