Police: Iowa man arrested after report of Muscatine armed bank robbery

Police in Muscatine arrested an Iowa man after a report of an armed robbery at a bank, according to a news release from the Muscatine Police Department.

MUSCOM received a report of an armed robbery at U.S. Bank, 1800 Park Avenue in Muscatine, on August 24 at about 9:05 a.m. Officers responded to the area and began searching for a man who had fled the scene.

A Muscatine County Deputy found the suspect vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 38 and additional law enforcement units responded to assist. An Iowa State Trooper initiated a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle on Highway 38, just north of Highway 6 and the suspect, 38-year-old Mathew Rawson of Coralville, Iowa, was taken into custody without incident.
