Suspect in Boise Greenbelt attack returns to court, hearing reset for September

The man accused of attacking a woman along the Boise Greenbelt in July appeared in court on Monday, where attorneys clarified one of the charges against him.

Javier Ortiz, 26, is being held on a $1 million bond. Idaho News 6 previously reported Ortiz was charged with second-degree kidnapping and aggravated assault.

During Monday’s hearing, attorneys clarified that the kidnapping charge is attempted second-degree kidnapping, not second-degree kidnapping. They asked for the court record to be corrected and said the clarification does not represent a change in the charges Ortiz is facing…
