GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) — Greenville City Council gave the initial approval to move forward with what could be one of the city’s largest annexation projects.
The city wants to bring a 135-acre area along Woodruff Road into Greenville’s city limits, including property along I-385 and businesses such as Sam’s Club, Chick-fil-A, and the Merovan Business Center.
“We believe in Greenville—its vision, its planning, and its ability to bring people together,” said Mayor Knox White. “Thoughtful annexation lets more people share in that opportunity. It doesn’t add new cars or new residents; it simply brings existing areas into a place with strong standards and responsible planning so we can guide growth the right way.”
