‘No answers’: Encampment leaves Kalamazoo resident concerned

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Needles, discarded clothes and damaged tents are scattered around a lot behind a southside Kalamazoo neighborhood.

It’s a problem that one resident said has been a cycle for five years, only getting worse in the last two weeks.

Those mounds of trash are hidden beyond the city easement and pass a set of railroad tracks along the Portage Creek. The woods were a childhood play spot for some years ago…
