Surfing Crab, a seafood restaurant specializing in Cajun seafood boils, fried seafood, and Southern-inspired dishes, is getting ready to open two new locations in Corpus Christi at 14030 South Padre Island Drive and 4101 Interstate Highway 69 Access Road.
The company’s new locations are planned for South Padre Island Drive and Five Points Shopping Center in Calallen, according to TDLR filings and the restaurant’s website. The South Padre Island Drive project will renovate an existing retail space into a restaurant, with the $400,000 privately funded construction project scheduled to begin Aug. 29, 2026, and finish by Feb. 20, 2027. While an exact opening date has not been announced for either location, customers can expect Surfing Crab’s seafood boils, fried seafood baskets, sandwiches, cocktails, and other seafood offerings.
Surfing Crab currently operates multiple locations throughout Texas, including restaurants in Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Portland, Brownsville, McAllen, Laredo, Victoria, San Marcos, and Round Rock. The company also operates a location in Escondido, California.
